I logged into Yahoo! Personals the other day to note any changes and notice a few surprises with regards to the memberships. The first is, Yahoo has gone from 3 membership levels down to 2. Their Premier Membership has been removed and the remaining membership pricing will be just a dollar more, when compared to the old casual membership. Subscription prices are now between 13.99 to 25.99 per month depending on the length of the membership. The old Premier prices for a month ranged from 20.83 to 39.95. The features that where part of the Premier subscription level (which dealt with searching and rating matches) have either been removed or rolled into the existing paid memberships. The free membership as far as I can tell has remained unchanged.
The major surprise is Yahoo! Personals has a guarantee now. If you purchase a 6 month membership Yahoo will make you a 6-Month Promise. If you do not find someone special by the end of your subscription, they will give you another six months for free. You must have a approved searchable profile with a photo and must communicate with at least 5 different members each month to be eligible. Another nice touch is they will email your status each month to help you keep track of your eligibility.
It appears that the 6-month promise started in May, 2008. I am unsure why Yahoo did not promote this at all since few dating services actually offer a guarantee. If promoted they would have brought in more members and received some free publicity from dating blogs such as this one. Sometimes you have to wonder about large companies marking departments, it doesn't take much to release a press release.
Yahoo Personals promise is very similar to Match.com "Make Love Happen Guarantee". In fact it is virtually the same except for a few small details. I guess they figured if it works for Match, it will work for Yahoo.

Ten 2 One recently got to check in with Yazi, to see what was on her mind
1) What was the worst Summer Job you had as a Teenager?
Wow Ive had so many .I was so young, manual labor was key. The Artist Cafe on Michigan Ave. My first server job at a diner. It was owned by a Greek family. I had just discovered staying out pass 3am . It was an awesome summer for parties. Working. well, ya know. I would come to work at 6 am for breakfast shift. Dying by 9 am. By 9:30 am my manager Irene would be pinching my cheeks asking if I had been out all night. Of course, I said . So she would put me in the worst station, and nit pick about everything. I guess she thought she was teaching me a lesson. Little did she, or I, know it was great training for the years to come. Now I can be a functioning citizen during the day and a wild child at night.
2) What bad habits do you need to break?
Wearing my Heart on my sleeve.
3) If you could change the end of ANY movie, what movie would it be, and what would you change?
I watch a lot of french films. they are pretty good at common sense.
4) In your opinion, what album must every serious music fan own?
Good question. Music is so personal. Okay I must break this down in categories.
Hip Hop : A Tribe Called Quests Midnight Marauders or any mix tape by DJ Muro
Jazz: Anything by John Coltrane
Dance: Deee-lites Dewdrops In The Garden ( Yes I am a girl.)
All Jamrioquai
Classic: Roy Ayers gives you a great overture of his work.
5) Whats your Guilty Pleasure?
Isnt DJing a guilty pleasure?. ha ha. Fried Food, Ranch dressing, Ice Cream. Sitting in the park while consuming it all. Watching Teenage Dramas on TV.
6) Who is the greatest artist of your lifetime ( in any medium)?
Oh My, so so many Martha Vega Moreno, author . Favorite book; When the Spirits Dance Mambo. Her writings transport me to my childhood. Being raised in an urban setting. She is multimedia, which I love. She paints, writes, and loves music. All while holding the contradiction that is family to heart.
7) What are the ingredients for the perfect Road Trip?
Road trips are not my favorite thing to do. If I have to do it, I prefer to be on tour. At least Ill be paid to be that uncomfortable.
8 ) What was the hardest thing you ever had to learn?
DJing. The basic technique, the business side, and the social side . Djs are a very special breed. Myself included.
9)Whos your favorite DJ?
I have my established DJs as far as business/ art is concerned. I must say hands down, DJ Kwest_on, a local (Chicago) cat. He definitely took me under his wings when I first started to learn the fundamentals. Answered all my questions without judgement. Critiqued me when necessary. Really molded me into the DJ that I am today.
10) Whats the most ridiculous thing youve ever done on a dare?
I dont do dares. I give them.
Parting Shot :
My words to live by; The Light of my past reflects on my future. Chavo S.

Heya! My name is Claudiu Balaceanu. I am a photographer and model living in Birmingham, UK. I am a Sociology Psychology student, at BCU. I am also a photojournalist, currently working with the British American Media. In my photography I concentrate on body language, human emotions and I try to show as much as possible of the personality of the model. I am always open for new ideas and new styles, but here you can see what my style is like at the moment. I enjoy working with artistic nudes, area that inspires me the most. I would like to find models that are interested in my style, also able to show more than plastic poses. I have my own photo studio, and if you are interested in having your pictures taken, please contact me. Dont hesitate contacting me at: ihs7@hotmail.co.
